Hello family members, friends and curious cats. It has been well over I year I think since I have even uttered a word on here. Well, as it turns out, graduate school and being a mom have kept me busier than I care to acknowledge. My days are filled with Aubrey's needs and my nights are filled with trying to catch up with Ashley, homework and returning email and updating the Facebook. I can't complain though as I have a very good life right now. School has been a challenge, but I am glad that I am slowly getting through it. The Spring quarter is over, but the Summer quarter is set to begin next week. I will also be starting my Summer internship down at the City Attorney's office helping prosecute child abuse cases. I will be there Mondays and Wednesdays while Aubrey spends his time away from me with Edith, the nanny. EEEEKKKK, I am freaking out big time about this as you can imagine. I am sure that Aubrey will be just fine, it is me that I am worried about. It is hard enough to give up control, but to put your baby boy in the hands of another is the terrifying to me at the moment. I wish family lived closer as I would be inclined to have him spend his afternoons away from me playing with his cousins in the safety of mama bear Caelen's home den. Anyway, I am trying to cope somehow and having it not involve sugar has been a challenge.
Aubrey is doing great! He is climbing on everything. He still has few words, but it is normal as he chose to develop his physical skills instead of his verbal skills for now (at least that is what the doctor tells me). I try to not compare him with other kids his age as I have come to find out that it drives me nuts. He is healthy and happy and that is all that I hope for. Ashley and I are doing great and we are hoping to head up north a few times for the summer, however, everyone seems to be crazy busy, as are we. We have even managed to get out and have a few date nights by ourselves and with friends, thanks to the incredible baby sitting skills of Ms.Denise, an old co-worker of mine who use to nanny. I am glad that we have been able to get some adult time. I forgot how much fun it is to have a conversation with and adult without having to be interrupted by a little one needing constant attention. On a sad note, Mancha, our beloved friend's dog of 14 years passed away last month. It was so sad to see her go, but she was an old gal and it was her time. I helped raise her and it was so traumatic to see her leave us. She was a nutty gal, but she was a smart sweet gal too.
Well, if I disappear for another year, have no fear I am just going about trying to keep it all together with school, child, husband, friends, dog,...........
PEACE,
Virginia
