It was wonderful to have all our close friends and family join us to celebrate the new baby. He or she is due any day now. Mom and Sis did the heavy lifting, organizing the events, decorations, food, invites and driving all the way here for a quick weekend stay. Thanks for that you 2!!! Little Ivy came along to keep us all entertained, but most importantly because Aubrey and her are best buds and love to hang out. But no need for me to continue rambling on about this when you can just see the pics...

Things so far

I don't know what it is like to be second born. I am a first born and so is Ashley. And so is Aubrey for that matter. But from what I hear from second born children is that there is a tendency to resent the 1st born for various reasons. As you can tell already, this second child due to arrive in a few weeks is already being relegated to the back burners of the internet. It's true, I have been busy and this time around the pregnancy has not been that golden as with Aubrey, however, I also realize that is no excuse to not mention the arrival of this child in our blog. I cringe at the thought of this little one having to think they are not as good as their older brother because of birth order. The truth of the matter is that I have been trying to heal from my first bout with child birth and the trauma it brought with it. In case you don't remember, it SUCKED! So, I have been in a bit of denial that I am going to have to go through the whole pain, uncertainty, labor and exhaustion that I experienced almost 3 years ago. This time however, I am doing as much as possible to make this experience so vastly different. Wish me luck. I am looking to cash in all my brownie points with the universe and I would love all your good vibes, prayers and support in the following weeks to come.
However, in the same vein, I am looking forward to meeting our new little family member. He or she will only add to the already marvelous journey that we are taking as a family. There is a name. No, we are not going to tell anyone till the baby is earth side. :) In the meantime, I hope you are all doing well and I look forward to sharing pictures of the little one soon.
